“The food was absolutely delicious and the sites experienced are ones that will be kept in my memory forever!”
Blu Charters favors the charter areas in the Caribbean, one of the most famous sailing destinations in the world, because of the warm trade winds, sheltered celestial waters, white sand beaches fringed with palm trees, laid back beach bars and fascinating blend of native and international cultures. The abundance of islands and cays, each one offering a unique variation of paradise, are home to endless tranquil bays, colorful reefs and pristine beaches, resulting in extraordinary snorkeling, SCUBA diving, watersports, relaxation and fun.
The rich diversity of this region presents a dilemma; we must choose which version of paradise suits us best, as we cannot possibly explore it all in one week. We’re here for you. You can discover more about what sets the British, Spanish and U.S. Virgin Islands apart below. To best determine your ideal destinations, connect with the Blu Charters team for a consultation.

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS (BVIS)
Close your eyes. Silently repeat the words Caribbean paradise. You’re probably envisioning the British Virgin Islands (BVIs), 60 variations of bliss within a few minutes to a few hours sail from one and other. Whether your ideal is your own private beach or sparkling cove, active adventures like diving, snorkeling, hiking, paddle boarding or kite surfing, or jammin’ beach bars, you’ll find someplace in the BVIs that will redefine your ideal of paradise. Sailing the BVIs is unquestionably the way to explore this destination. Discovering the surreal beauty and history of the Baths on Virgin Gorda, dining on Anegada lobster with your feet in the soft white sand of the coral fringed beaches and diving through aquatic jungles formed around shipwrecks are just a few of the other worldly pleasures awaiting you in the BVIs.
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS (USVIs)
St. John, the clear favorite for yacht charters in the U.S. Virgin Islands, has been winning hearts for decades thanks to 60% of its land being protected national park. The island is surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches and forested shorelines in the region, and offers world-class access to watersports and ecotourism. If you’re looking for dining and shopping, the U.S. Virgin Islands promise not to disappoint. St. Thomas serves as the principal gateway for visitors to all of the Virgin Islands, with ferries connecting it easily to the BVIs. A visit to stunning Christmas Cove is well worth your time to sample local favorite Pizza Pi, prepared aboard the only floating pizza joint in the islands.
SPANISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
The Spanish Virgin Islands are underrated, and they are having a moment. Chartering a yacht around Puerto Rico, Culebra, Culebrita and Vieques offers a bounty of unique experiences. The bioluminescent bays are some of the best (and last) in the world. Savvy investors are bringing new life to Culebra and Vieques, while Culebrita and many small islands remains largely pristine and uninhabited. Puerto Rico begs to be explored by land to enjoy the history and pulse of the rainforest, Old San Juan, fishing villages and surf towns, but all that can be easily mixed in to a yacht charter.

At Blu Charters we believe in a healthy balanced vacation, that perfect blend of active adventure and total relaxation. However, we understand that balance is different for everyone. It is your vacation, so your crew will gladly alter course according to your preferences and in search of the best weather and best times.
Your crew will always offer delicious food and drinks, music and dancing, beach time, sailing, water sports, snorkeling and diving, hiking and perhaps even yoga.
With all this accessible from the boat, it can be easy to forget that you are surrounded by incredible island destinations. We recommend exploring, supporting, and tasting the diversity of each unique island community.
You can count on your Captain and Crew to know the area well and take you to the best spots. Sit back, relax and soak up the trip of a lifetime.
You will board your yacht at 12:00 in Nanny Cay Marina on Tortola. Sit back and relax with something cool to drink while your Captain and Crew lift the sails to head across the St. Francis Drake channel. You are sailing to Norman Island, made famous from the book Treasure Island. You will stop on the way for a snorkel at the famous Pirate Blackbeard’s Caves, while your Chef prepares lunch.
After lunch you will sail to The Bight, the bay where you will spend the rest of the day and night. Take advantage of the calm protected waters with a kayak or stand-up paddle-board (SUP) session or go jump off the famous Willy T boat-bar. Later chill out on the trampolines or one of the many relaxing spots on board.
For Happy Hour indulge in typical tropical drinks with the best fresh ingredients before heading to shore for dinner. Pirates Bight restaurant is right on the beach. If you are up for dancing, the Willy T always offers a good time, or your crew awaits for whatever you might be in the mood for.
Awaken in paradise for a morning yoga session and the smell of fresh coffee. Then start your day right with a quick dive in the ocean before breakfast. This morning you will explore The Indians, one of the most popular snorkels and dives in the British Virgin Islands. Get involved as they lift the sails to move on, or just enjoy the wind in your hair. You’ll anchor close to the beach, so later that afternoon you can ride with the Captain in the tender or swim in from the boat.
You will have lunch at a Peter Island favorite on the beach. Deadman’s Bay offers a prestigious resort in a stunning location, and is perfect for sailing hobbycats, kayaking, and other watersport activities. Get a massage at Peter Island resort SPA or challenge your friends to some board games. Soon it is that time of the day again — happy hour! The Captain is the Chef tonight, he’s going to grill some steaks and veggies on the barbeque.
After breakfast you will hike to the other side of gorgeous Peter Island. Jump in to cool down and watch the Green Sea Turtles swim up from the grassy bottom for air. Once you’re back at sea, your Captain will let you in on you some of the great pirate legends on the way to Salt Island where the famous Wreck of Rhone awaits us for an epic snorkel or dive. You will drop anchor where you can explore the salt farm, swim, and refuel your body.
After lunch you will sail to Cooper Island, your home for the night. Snorkel one of the gorgeous reefs around Manchioneel Bay or take out the SUPs or kayaks. Check out the shops or happy hour drinks in the beach bar before dinner, or brave up to a sunset wakeboarding session. Appetizers and dinner will be served on board. Your yacht has plenty of games to get into at night, or simply relax and study the stars.
What a pleasure to start another beautiful day in paradise slowly waking up from the aromas and flavors of your Chef’s amazing creations in the galley. Jump in for a swim before setting sail to Virgin Gorda, The Baths are definitely one of the BVI’s favorite gems. Snorkel, swim, walk, and climb through The Baths or relax on the white sandy beaches taking priceless photos. When you return, lunch will be ready on-board. While making your way to the North Sound you sail past Sir Richard Branson’s Islands and the famous Bitter End Yacht Club.
You will arrive just in time for happy hour at the amazing and unforgettable Island Saba Rock and the feeding of the huge Tarpon fish. Sip on the delicious painkillers or Rum-punch while kite surfers and windsurfers show off their skills. This is the time to start finding potential victims for your sailing race to Anegada the next morning. After happy hour head over to the Bitter End Yacht Club where there are several restaurants to chose from.
Today is very special, you are racing all the boats to Anegada, whether they like it or not. Enjoy a coffee and breakfast, but get your game face on, we want to get there first. The 2-hour sail to Anegada is one of the most exciting sails of the week. With a beam reach, your sail yacht cuts effortlessly through the water and is very stable. Grab your beach toys and towels, and remember, you’re in paradise. Rent an island-style truck with benches on the back, and your Crew will take you around the island on a guided tour. Anegada has 300 people who are all dependent on tourism and our support to make a living.
You’ll lunch at Cowreck (Psst: Corona TV ads were shot at this honey moon style beach). After a beautiful beach session and games at the ‘help yourself bar’ you’ll be off to look for the pink flamingos.
After a day of exploring several beaches and gorgeous scenery it’s time to see the prettiest sunset ever. Prepare yourself for the popular Anegada lobsters, one of the tastiest meals imaginable, grilled on the BBQ and served Anegada style with your feet in the sand. Try the Wonky Dog, you won’t regret it.
After breakfast it is time for another day of amazing sailing. Often, on this approximately three-hour leg, gregarious dolphins swim next to the boat. Your destination is the eastern point of Tortola where a group of islands meet. Pause for lunch before snorkeling or diving Diamond Reef, another one of the best snorkeling spots in the BVI, where you will be surrounded by turtles, eagle rays, abundant schools of fish, and beautiful fan corals.
Next sail to the northern part of Tortola to spend the night at Cane Garden Bay. Kayak and SUP in the protected bay or go for a walk on the long white beach. Cane Garden Bay is also the home of one of the only rum distilleries left in the BVIs, and they are open for tasting. Happy hour, appetizers, and dinner will be served aboard while you admire this sublime part of Mother Earth.
Cane Garden Bay is the ideal place to listen to live local music and dance to reggae music, or you can always choose to make your own music and play guitar on board before being lulled to sleep by the gentle waves.
What a pleasure to wake up in this gorgeous bay. Your chef will get you back into top shape with her signature body-and-soul food. After breakfast you will head to Jost Van Dyk, Diamond Cay. This bay is home to many creatures; keep an eye out for the turtles swimming up to the surface. Strap your shoes on for a small hike to the Bubbly Pools, formed in the rocks where the waves rolls in. This is an excellent time to see some of the local wildlife, plants and trees.
Later sail around to the popular White Bay beach for lunch at the famous Soggy Dollar, One Love, Ivan’s or one of the many beach bars and restaurants. This beach is definitely the place to be during the day, full of people sipping on painkillers, the local cocktail of choice. Take a break from your busy day back on board while the Chef prepares their signature culinary magic. After dinner the world famous Foxy’s bar and restaurant has a DJ ready for you to dance the night away, or spend your last night aboard playing cards and laughing about the great memories.
Wake up to a final delicious breakfast together (for now). Walk or jump the plank into this turquoise water and make your peace for the time being, you will be back in the near future.
You final sail will take you to West End or Trellis Bay, depending on where your flight departs. You will be dropped off with enough time to scoop up any essential souvenirs. No need for goodbyes…
